The "C" Series consists of records accumulated by the British forces stationed in Canada from 1759 until 1906, as well as sundry military records. Upon the Act of Union in 1707, the armed forces of England and Scotland were merged into the armed forces of the Kingdom of Great Britain. Between 1707 and 1914, British forces played a prominent role in notable conflicts including the Seven Years' War, the Napoleonic Wars and the Crimean War.
This collection consists of correspondence and supporting documents consisting primarily of memoranda, reports, returns, memorials, petitions, certificates, instructions and warrants accumulated in the office of the Military Secretary of the Commander of the Forces in Canada, 1767-1870, and letter books containing copies of letters most of which were written in the Military Secretary's Office, 1796-1870. - URL
