The "C" Series consists of records accumulated by the British forces stationed in Canada from 1759 until 1906, as well as sundry military records. Upon the Act of Union in 1707, the armed forces of England and Scotland were merged into the armed forces of the Kingdom of Great Britain. Between 1707 and 1914, British forces played a prominent role in notable conflicts including the Seven Years' War, the Napoleonic Wars and the Crimean War.
This collection contains correspondence and reports of the Officer Commanding in Nova Scotia and his Military Secretary, and the Commanding Officer and Brigade Major in New Brunswick, as well as the offices of the Commanding Royal Engineer, the Quartermaster General, the Deputy-Adjutant General, the Principal Medical Officer, and the Town Majors of Halifax and St. John, and miscellaneous records relating to the Command. - URL
