The Privy Council Office (PCO) is the secretariat of the federal cabinet, providing officially non-partisan advice and support to the Prime Minister and cabinet. It also provides leadership, coordination, and support to government departments and agencies. Led by the Clerk of the Privy Council, the PCO helps the government implement its vision, and respond effectively and quickly to issues facing the government and the country. The PCO should not be confused with the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), which provides partisan advice. Thus, the PCO serves as the policy oriented but politically sensitive advisory unit to the Prime Minister, while the PMO is politically oriented but policy sensitive.
This collection consists of indexed registers recording all documents except despatches submitted to the Privy Council. - URL
