Description

The Bank of British North America was founded in 1835 in London, England, with offices in Toronto; Montreal; Quebec City; Saint John, New Brunswick; Halifax and St. John's, Newfoundland. It also operated agencies in New York City and San Francisco. It merged with the Bank of Montreal in 1918.
This collection consists of a 72 page register containing a list of proprietors of the Bank of British North America in Upper and Lower Canada, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island from 1837 to 1839.

La Banque de l’Amérique du Nord britannique a été fondée à Londres, Angleterre, en 1835. Elle possède des agences à Toronto, Montréal, Québec, Saint John au Nouveau-Brunswick, Halifax et St. John’s à Terre-Neuve. Elle avait aussi des agences à New York et à San Francisco. Elle a fusionné avec la Banque de Montréal en 1918.
