Francis Joseph Audet (1867 - 1943) was born in Detroit, Michigan, and joined the National Archives of Canada in 1888, eventually becoming head of information services. He retired in 1939. He was a founding member of the League of Ten and President of the Royal Society, and he is the author of several reference books on historical matters, particularly those related to Lower Canada and Quebec, such as a work on chief justices of the province of Quebec from 1764 to 1924.
The collection consists of a manuscript; biographical and genealogical notes; historical notes; genealogical records and a genealogical index. These documents focus on Audet’s archival career. - URL
