John Robert Clarke Macredie (1879 - 1932) was an engineer with the Canadian Pacific Railway involved mainly in the construction of a railway bridges in the prairies although he also did some work in B.C. and Ontario. He supervised construction of the railway bridge at Outlook, Saskatchewan, and was Resident Engineer for the Construction of the Connaught tunnel, Roger's Pass, B.C., as well as being involved in numerous other projects. He held the post of District Engineer for Saskatchewan from 1917 until his death.
These fonds consist of progress photographs of various views of the Canadian Pacific Railway and Canadian Northern Railway bridges in Ontario, Saskatchewan and Alberta between 1903 to 1919. There are also working diaries, engineering notes and photographs of his construction projects from 1904 to 1918. - URL
